Wat Mahathat Sukhothai
A partly gilded statue of the Buddha among the central chedis of Wat Mahathat at the heart of Sukhothai, the ancient Thai capital. The lotus-bud finial of the principal chedi (centre) is typical of Sukhothai style. The temple may have been nuilt in the reign of King Lithai, 1347 to about 1368 AD.
