Jie girl
A Jie girl in southeastern Sudan carrying a gourd bowl filled with sorghum mash, to make the thick, grain beer called marissa. The Jie tribe are pastoralists, with cattle the primary wealth, and are related to the Turkana of Kenya. This girl is from Nawiaporo village at the foot of the Boma Plateau, close to the Ethiopian border.
