Reclining Vishnu
12313.02 Reclining Vishnu
The remains of the giant bronze statue of Vishnu reclining, from Angkor, Cambodia. Discovered in 1936, it was originally installed in the temple of West Mebon, on an island in the middle of the large artifical lake known as the West Baray. It dates to the middle of the 11th century, during the reign of Udayadityavarman II, and is now in the National Museum, Phnom Penh.
