Plastic House
A single tree relates to the soft texture and pale green of the plastic surrounding of Plastic House, a modern Japanese home in Japan. Designed by Kengo Kuma, the space achieves its intended meditative character through the use of hundreds of regularly spaced plastic beams. Walls and beams, including this raised platform in the small rear garden, are of FRP (fibreglass-reinforced plastic), and have a characteristic milky green appearance.
