Shoji
The room used for zazen, traditionally when trainee Zen monks sit facing the wall to meditate. entrance seen from inside. The shadows of the shoji cross-pieces make a focus for concentration. Design by Japanese architect, Tetsuo Goto. A combination of concealed adjustable fluorescent striplights and daylight bathes the interior equally from ceiling and walls.
