House of an art collector on the northern outskirts of Beijing. Designed by neighbouring artist Shao Fan, who also designed the furniture, this is part of a compound of several friends. This strange horsehoe-shaped table by Shao Fan is his version of a Tiao'an, a normall narrow side table. Above it, one of his black-series paintings..A curved 'Tiao'an' is the south-facing living room. This traditional type of narrow side table is normally a rectangular shape, so Shao Fan's design challenges the accepted convention.
