Shao Fan contemporary courtyard house, outskirts of Bejing, designed by the artist...This, the best known of Shao's chair designs is a deconstructed piece of furniture, 'exploded' and held together with sheets of clear acrylic. The chair appears to be frozen at the moment of explosion with the wooden elements hovering in mid-air. This deconstructed furniture is a comment on contemporary changes in Chinese society.
