The ‘Earth Court’ is the first of four courtyards of a modern Indian country retreat on the outskirts of Ahmedabad in Gujarat, India. Architect: Aniket Bhagwat. Plantings include the Tulsi, or Holy Basil, on a blue floor with niches for lights behind, alluding to the mythological story of Tulsi as the incarnation of a princess who fell in love with Lord Krishna and its the role in the ritual of the consecration of the Kalasha, the container of holy water.
