Hashimoto House
Drawers in stairs at a house in Setagaya, Tokyo, designed by the owner, designer Yukio Hashimoto. The aim was to combine privacy with openness on a small plot, achieved by a decked courtyard onto which the living area opens fully, with high exterior walls to block the view of the city surroundings while allowing maximum exposure to the sky. Drawers are fitted into the bottom three risers of the staircase for extra storage.
