Shrine
The curtain hung in front of the main sanctuary of Toyoukedaijingu Shogu (Geku, the Outer Shrine), Isé, the Imperial Shinto shrine of Isé-jingu, on the Shima Peninsula of Japan's Pacific coast is dedicated to the deity Amaterasu Omikami, the sun goddess and ancestor of the imperial house. She was enshrined here 2000 ago, and since the 7th century the shrines at Isé have been reconstructed in exact detail every twenty years..
