U Bein Bridge
The U Bein Bridge near Mandalay, Burma. A 1.2 km walkway (one of the longest wooden spans in the world) resting on teak pillars, it was built by the Mayor of Amarapura (and named after him) using the wood from the palace of Ava, abandoned in 1782.
