Dancers at the Phaung Daw U festival
Dancers at Lake Inle, Shan State, Burma, during the Phaung Daw U festival. Five sacred gold-enscrusted Buddha images are taken around the lake in a ceremonial barge in the shape of a Karaweik, a mythical bird. Canoes manned by leg-rowers pull the barge.
