Kurma
The turtle Kurma, avatar (incarnation) of the god Vishnu, from the bas-relief at Angkor Wat showing the Churning of the Sea of Milk. In this, gods and demons, each pulling on one end of a giant snake wrapped around Mount Mandara, churn the Sea of Milk and release amrita, the elixir of immortality. Mount Mandara rests on the back of Kurma.
