Old Alha woman with headdress, Baja Akha village on Bulangshan tea mountain, near Menghai, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan. Traditionally, Akha women never removed the silver-adorned headdress; now they wear them only for special occasions. This is the 'new' village, Bajapushi (Chinese name Xinbanzhang);nearby is the 'old' village, Bajapu-eu.
