The room used for zazen, traditionally when trainee Zen monks sit facing the wall to meditate. Design by Japanese architect, Tetsuo Goto. At the entrance to the paper-enclosed meditative space, Goto installed an alcove with concealed overhead lighting and a granite shelf supported by a rough stone wall. Japan
