Tofu House
A single-storey open-space house in Kyoto designed by Japanese architect Jun Tamaki for a retired couple. Its white cubic exterior and extra-thick walls give it its name, the Tofu House. The two concepts are that of ‘excavated’ negative space, and that of a multi-putpose space that can opened or sectioned off with dividers that retreat into the walls.
