Sliding ladder
In a Japanese house in Hokkaido, Japan, design by architect Yoshio Maruyama, an ingenious storage and access solution is a sliding steel staircase on tracks set in floor and ceiling. It gives access to an upper storage area, while the cupboard space into which it fits when not in use, has triangular doors cut to accommodate it.
