Balcony Garden
A tiny balcony in an apartment block in Tokyo has been transformed by artist and gardener Tsuyoshi Nagasaki into a miniature garden solely for viewing; indeed, more an art installation than a garden. Dried, cut black bamboo is 'planted' and layered in a bed of special white pebbles (shironachi) to give the effect of a miniature forest in snow. The cubic glass lights were hand-blown around selected pebbles, which have left indentations.
