Cadbury
Long regarded one of the most likely sites for King Arthur's Camelot, this fortified hill near the village of South Cadbury in Somerset, southwest England, has been occupied since Neolithic times. Antiquarian John Leland identified it with Camelot in 1542. Excavations in the 1960s showed layers of setllement, including fortifications and the foundations of a great hall from Arthurian times.
