Tea factory
Cloth-wrapped cake of Pu'er tea being placed in hydraulic press to compact it. Pure Puer tea factory, Brilliant Puer Tea estate, Huiming, western Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China.
The just-processed tea, still moist and wrapped in a cloth bag, is pressed hydraulically into the traditional bing shape, as seen on the shelves in the foreground. The knot in the cloth bag about to be pressed makes the circular indentation on the reverse of the bing. Most Pu'er teas nowadays are pressed hydraulically.
