The room used for zazen, traditionally when trainee Zen monks sit facing the wall to meditate. Design by Japanese architect, Tetsuo Goto. At the entrance to the paper-enclosed meditative space. Goto replaced the idea of a vase for flower display with a shallow water-filled depression. Here, the circular indentation is carved into a granite slab. Japan
