The balcony and second floor of the Chitchai House ('Tiny House'), a miniature Tokyo residence built on a 31 square metre plot in Harajuku. The architect, Denso Sugiura, has made a speciality of packing as much living space into extremely small spaces. Here, a Japanese elm grows through the three floors of the narrow dwelling, bringing an unexpected spaciousness.
