Tibetan pilgrim, Tashilhunpo
A pilgrim climbs one of the narrow lanes in the monastery complex Tashilhunpo, the largest monastery in Tibet. Founded in 1447 by the first Dalai Lama, Tashilunpo belongs to the Gelugpa, or 'Yellow Hat' school of Tibetan Buddhism.
The Jankhang Chenmo was erected to house the gigantic statue of the Maitreya Buddha.
