Hiei Daira no Ie House
A contemporary Japanese dry-stone garden on the slopes of the mountain Hieizan, near Kyoto. Designed by Yoshiji Takehara, it uses broken stones instead of the traditional white gravel. Another feature, shown here, is the use of partial, half-concealed views to stimulate interest. Garden through wooden gateway.
