A Shinto priest crosses a bridge at the Imperial Shinto shrine of Isé-jingu, on the Shima Peninsula of Japan. Shinto priests walk in procession towards the Inner Shrine (Naiku). The central deity worshipped is Amaterasu Omikami, the sun goddess and ancestor of the imperial house.
