Ryoanji
A Japanese well-known Zen dry-stone garden in the famous Kyoto temple of Ryoan-ji. Approximately 500 years ago (the exact date, like much else about this garden, is unknown) a rectangular plot of about 200 square meters was laid out in this temple founded in 1450. Bounded by a low clay wall on three sides, a raked bed of white gravel contains just fifteen stones.
