Tibetan haystacks

Tibetan haystacks

The distinctive haystacks, raised high on poles out of reach of livestock, at Ranwu, eastern Tibet, dotted around the town’s largest chorten. The nearby lake is the main water supply for the Palong Tsangpo, a branch of the Yarlong Tsangpo River, and the Road continues westward up the valley towards Bomi.
