The living room of a modern Japanese home that resembles the interior of a ‘minka’ (traditional Japanese farmhouse), Japan. Design by husband and wife team Akira and Andrea Hikone. The room features tatami flooring, shoji screens, exposed timber work and an irori (or sunken hearth) as the centrepiece of the room in traditional minka style.
