Tiny House
The balcony and second floor of the Chitchai House ('Tiny House'), a miniature Tokyo residence built on a 31 square metre plot in Harajuku. The architect, Denso Sugiura, has made a speciality of packing as much living space into extremely small spaces. Here, the tatami room is used to accommodate guests, futons are needed for night-time. A specially designed electrically-operated jack lifts the central tatami to expose hidden storage space.
