Nandi shrine.
At the Hindu temple of Arunachaleshvara, in the South Indian town of Tiruvannamalai, pilgrims make offerings to Nandi, Shiva’s bull, while respect is shown to a sacred cow by touching its feet. The temple, one of the largest in India, is dedicated to the god Shiva as Lord of the Eastern Mountain.
