Shanghai Expo 2010 UK pavilion
British Pavilion at Shanghai Expo 2010. Designed by Thomas Heatherwick, the building is encased in 60,000 transparent rods, each 7.5 metres long, which pipe light into the interior Seed Cathedral. Here, at the end of each rod, is a seed, sourced from the Germplasm Bank of Wild Species at the Kunming Institute of Botany.
